The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has called on the people of Ebonyi State not to support the presidential ambition of a former Governor who is currently canvassing for their votes ahead of the 027 preidential election.
While addressing people of the state, Umahi, in a video that has gone viral, asked the former governor to mention one person from the state he appointed while he was in office.
He questioned Obi’s relationship with Ebonyi people, alleging that the former governor did not appoint any indigene of the state into his administration while serving as governor of Anambra State.
“When you were a governor, give me one Ebonyi person that you gave an appointment. When they removed Abakaliki Street that had been there for over fifty years, you said nothing. It’s only when it comes to votes that they say we Ebonyi people are one with other states in the South East. But when it comes to insulting us, they insult us. We are not second-class citizens. We are proud Ebonyi people” Umahi stated.
He urged residents of Ebonyi to use their votes to fight the seeming classism within Igbos.
‘’Use your votes to fight. We will not go back to Egypt. We say no to secodn colonization. God has freed us. Wehave a state of our own. We are celebrating 30 years of freedom and nobody will take us back. What happened before was an accident of history. It will not repeat itself. Now you know better’’

A Nigerian man serving in the US Army has questioned how Nigerians earning โฆ100,000 monthly manage to survive amid the rising cost of living.
Speaking during a video, he said he often asks people about their earnings and is surprised that some Nigerians support families on relatively low incomes despite the rising prices of food, fuel and other essentials.
He noted that with the minimum wage at โฆ100,000, he finds it difficult to understand how workers are able to cover their monthly expenses.
“Sometimes when I do my livestream, I ask people questions, you know, how much do you earn and stuff, they will say like โฆ800,000. And sometimes these people have families, like two kids, three kids,” he said.
He added that Nigerians are paid monthly, unlike in the US where workers may receive their salaries more frequently, and asked Nigerians to explain how people earning โฆ100,000 manage to survive each month.
