A heartbreaking video of a businessman weeping after his shop was burgled in Ijesha, Osun state, has made the rounds on social media.

‘’I am finished. This is all I have. Please come to my aid. I don’t know what to do’’ he said as he wailed

He mentioned that the thieves stole phones, laptops, and other computer accessories from his shop.

He said the thieves also destroyed the safe he had in his shop and carted away all the money he had in it.

He called on Nigerians to help him track the thieves.

53-year-old Lagos resident, Nelly Monday, who was arrested in Meiran on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, for dumping refuse in the drains during the rain, has been convicted of the offence.

She was arraigned before the Magistrate Court sitting at Bolade, Oshodi, where she pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to one month in prison.

LAWMA, in a statement released, warned residents against indiscriminate waste disposal, particularly dumping refuse in drainage channels and other unauthorised locations as such acts are environmental offences that attract sanctions under the law.

The Authority says it will continue to work with relevant enforcement agencies to identify and sanction environmental offenders across Lagos.

Nigerian clergyman, Odumeje, has slammed the elites of the South East, accusing them of “ making noise ” without making any meaningful impact in the region.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Odumeje, who was speaking in his church recently, said that while other regions like the North and South have embassies where residents can go for visa appointments, the South East has none, making everyone from the region travel to either Lagos or Abuja for visa appointments.

He argued that the call for one Nigeria must be seen to be fair and just in all its entirety. He said that while other regions can boast of seaports and embassies, the South East region cannot boast of any of such.

He called out the Federal government for its recent moves to block the Onitsha Head Bridge for repairs. He said that now that elections are around the corner, the Federal government has decided to remember the bridge for repairs.

“Federal Government has come to play politics with Onitsha Head Bridge. That is why, now that the election is close, they have come to repair it. If you hear how much they budgeted for that, you will be shocked. Before you know it, it will take too long to reopen.

All the elites in Igbo land are busy making noise. It’s so shameful that in 2026, there is no embassy in the South-East. Before anyone can get a visa, he or she must travel to Abuja or Lagos.

Content creator Mummy Wa has claimed that a large number of women in Nigeria’s entertainment industry engage in pr0st!tution.

Speaking during a recent conversation, she questioned how some female celebrities and entertainers who have no obvious businesses or other sources of income are able to maintain expensive lifestyles.

One guest argued that some women receive money from wealthy men because of their looks, popularity or relationships, but insisted that receiving financial support from a man does not automatically mean a woman is engaging in pr0st!tution.

Another influencer also acknowledged that many women in the entertainment industry are creative and have multiple sources of income, citing actress and entrepreneur King mitchy as an example.

Replying to this, Mummy Wa insisted that such stream of income should be backed with evidence rather than just stating other source of income outside entertainment

Nigerian businessman and political commentator Isaac Fayose has criticised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over the size of his convoy, amid the economic hardship facing Nigerians.

In a video shared online, Fayose questioned why Nigerians are being urged to manage the current economic situation while government officials move around in large convoys.

“The federal government of Nigeria are telling you and I to manage for now because the economy is down. But look at the minister’s convoy,” he said.

Fayose questioned how much fuel would be required to power the numerous vehicles in Wike’s convoy each day, arguing that the resources could be better used to address challenges such as poor roads and healthcare.

He also questioned why a minister and former governor would require such a large convoy, comparing Wike’s security arrangement with that of some of Africa’s wealthiest businessmen.

Fayose urged Nigerians to question how public resources are being used instead of simply accepting the government’s call for them to endure economic hardship.

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old lady identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, over an alleged case of using her minor to create explicit content in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The command, in a statement released, said it received a disturbing video of the suspect allegedly using a s#x toy on a min@r. The suspect is alleged to have used her daughter to make ad@lt cont%nt that generates her income online.

Confirming her arrest to newsmen, the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the operation also led to the rescue of four children, aged 2, 3, 6 and 9 years respectively, as well as the recovery of s#x toys and other items relevant to the ongoing investigation.

Ikenga said the suspect is currently in police custody as the command intensifies its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the possible involvement of other persons.

The police image-maker said the suspect’s husband is also being interrogated to determine whether he has any connection to the alleged offence.

Ikenga said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, is deeply disturbed by the alleged act, describing it as unacceptable, particularly because it involves the exploitation and abuse of children who are incapable of protecting themselves. He has therefore directed a thorough and professional investigation while ensuring that the rescued children receive appropriate care and protection.

The suspect, however, claims the circulating videos are AI-generated.

The growing practice of social media influencers filming police officers during stop-and-search operations, and in some cases while officers are simply going about their personal lives, has raised important questions about accountability, privacy, and the proper conduct of police-public interactions.

The Inspector-General of Police’s position should not be misread as an attempt to shield erring officers from accountability, and it is not a directive against recording police misconduct.

The IGP has never said that officers who act wrongly should not be recorded or reported. What is being called for is responsible engagement.

Officers performing their lawful duties should be able to do so without unnecessary provocation, obstruction, or having every encounter turned into content for views and engagement.

Where an officer is believed to have acted improperly, the appropriate response remains the same: preserve the evidence and report the matter through the proper channel.

The Nigeria Police Force has a Police Complaint Response Unit (PCRU) where complaints against officers can be lodged, and where videos and other evidence can be submitted for investigation and appropriate action.

Social media exposure should complement, not substitute for, formal investigation. A short video clip may not always capture the full context of an incident: what led up to it, what was said off-camera, or what followed. Yet once published, it can quickly shape public judgment against an individual officer or the Force as a whole, before the facts are established.

Like any large institution, the Police Force has its share of bad actors, and their conduct should never be excused. However, the repeated recording and circulation of the misconduct of a few can create a distorted impression that such behaviour defines the entire Nigeria Police Force. This does little to serve genuine accountability, and it can also affect how Nigeria is perceived internationally.

Actor Daniel Etim Effiong has questioned critics who object to his k!ssing scenes in movies, arguing that the nature of an act does not automatically make it good or ****.

Speaking in a video, the actor asked whether the same people would question a gynaecologist for examining female gen!t@ls as part of his profession.
