After a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Monday, September 14, the APC chairman of the Forum and governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, announced they will not support any political arrangement that is capable of weakening the election of APC candidates across the states.

Responding to their comments, Wike, in an interview with Arise TV this evening, said the APC governors were only being ‘’smart but politically lazy''. He challenged their political relevance and made particular reference to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, who he said, as a sitting governor, failed to deliver his state to President Tinubu and the APC in the 2023 election. He went further to state that the APC governors began having issues with him when President Tinubu gave him a ministerial position.

Some traders in Lagos have staged a protest against the alleged involvement of Chinese nationals in retail trading, claiming the development is affecting the survival of local businesses.

The protest was held at markets within the Lagos Trade Fair Complex along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

Videos circulating on social media showed the traders carrying placards with messages including “Chinese must go” and calling on Chinese nationals to stop selling directly to their customers.

One of the protesters said Chinese nationals initially came to Nigeria for wholesale trading but had expanded into retail, giving them an advantage over local traders because of their access to resources and direct connections to suppliers in China.

The trader said the protesters were not calling for violence or destruction of Chinese-owned businesses, warehouses or shops, but wanted the nationals to stop competing with local traders in retail.

He alleged that Chinese vendors often copy customers’ details from waybills and offer goods at lower prices after importing directly from China, making it difficult for local traders to compete.

The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a toddler who reportedly went missing from the children’s department of a Catholic church in the state on June 21, 2026.

Speaking to SaharaReporters, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Musa Mohammed, confirmed that the incident was formally reported to the police.

“I have confirmed that the matter is true. It was truly reported and the police is on it,” Mohammed said.

When asked whether the police had located the current whereabouts of the missing toddler, the PPRO declined to disclose details, citing the ongoing investigation.

“You know if a matter is under investigation, the police is not allowed to release all information to the public that might jeopardize our work. But what I can assure you is that we are working tirelessly to rescue the toddler and to arrest and possibly arraign the suspects behind this.”

In a chat with activist, Livinus Nwosu, the father of the missing child claimed she disappeared after himself and his wife took her to church and handed her over to the children’s department during a service. According to Festus, the toddler was handed over to a teacher in the children’s department.

He said the family returned after the church service to collect their daughter but were allegedly told that she could not be found.

The distraught father said the teacher initially confirmed that the child had been handed over to him but could not account for her whereabouts.

He said the family subsequently reported the matter at a police station, where some individuals connected to the incident were taken in for questioning before being released.

He mentioned that his family petitioned authorities in Abuja and sought the intervention of senior police authorities over the matter.

He appealed to Nigerians to help him demand the safe rescue of his child.

In a communique read to the press after the meeting, Uzodinma said the APC governors will not support any political arrangement that is capable of weakening the election of APC candidates across the states.

They argued that any agreement outside the one only for APC members will undermine the party candidates across the country.

‘’The Forum unanimously resolved that its members will not participate, support or endorse any political alliance or arrangement capable of undermining the re-election of Mr President, weakening the APC or adversely affecting any candidate of the party at all levels.

In other words, the forum has no intention to support any candidate at any level that is not an APC candidate, because our candidates are being sponsored by our party.

The governors’ campaign commitment is exclusively to all APC candidates.

No arrangement that causes confusion, divided loyalty, or conflicting interest within the party will be entertained’’

Some pupils of Community Secondary School, Amansea, in Anambra State., recently pulled a pleasant surprise on their teacher on her birthday.

The students tricked her that a snake had invaded their classroom. The video recorded showed the teacher panicking as she ran to get the students out of the classroom and out of harms way.

Immediately she arrived the door of the classroom, the students shouted “surprise “, presented her with a cake and sang “Happy Birthday “ to her.

Nigerian comedian Funnybone has spoken about the importance of understanding the different backgrounds and values people bring into marriage.

Speaking about relationships, he said people often carry lessons from their family homes into their marriages, which can sometimes create conflict between couples.

“There is no bad individual in that bad marriage. That man was good, that woman was good, but you’re coming from where you are carrying what you’re carrying from your foundation,” he said.

Funnybone explained that a man who grew up in a home where his father always had the final say could enter marriage expecting his voice to carry the same weight.

He contrasted this with a woman who grew up in a home where her mother was more dominant while her father often withdrew to maintain peace.

According to him, neither person is necessarily bad; they are simply bringing the values they grew up with into the relationship.

“This guy would constantly want his value and his voice to be heard. This girl wants her own value to shine. Now that doesn’t make her a bad person. They are both manifesting their values,” he said.

Funnybone advised couples to find common ground, give each other room to express themselves and have people who can hold them accountable.

He also disagreed with the idea that couples should simply be left alone to resolve their problems.

“I don’t take the popular quote that leave two adults to work it out. What do you know that you’re working out?” he said.

He added that having no one with enough authority to correct or guide a person can be dangerous in relationships, business and family.

Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries Limited, has disclosed that he acquired his first private jet at the age of 22 and a half.

Dangote made this known on Monday, September 14, at the Nigerian Exchange in Lagos during the formal launch of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals.

Reflecting on his journey as a businessman, Africa's richest man said he had enjoyed his career but now placed greater emphasis on channeling wealth into productive investments.

“My career as a businessman, I really had a great time. I was telling somebody that right now I don’t mind, I can take commercial, I can take anything. I had my first private jet at 22 and a half years old,” he said.

Dangote urged wealthy Nigerians who own expensive private aircraft to consider investing their resources in productive ventures that could contribute to economic development.

He said Nigeria could not attain its full potential without greater investment in production and other productive activities.

“I try as much as I can to encourage people who are riding $900 million aircraft to please go and put that into production. We are not going to be a great nation without doing something productive,” Dangote said.

A Nigerian lady has lamented the country’s poor electricity supply, saying the situation has affected her work and caused her to lose job opportunities.

In a video shared online, the lady said she previously worked with foreign clients but often had to visit friends’ houses to charge her laptop so she could meet deadlines.

She said the electricity situation recently affected her participation in a beauty contest after her lights went off midway through filming a makeup video.

According to her, she had already spent money on makeup products and had completed part of the video when the battery powering her lights ran out. She said there was no electricity in her area to recharge it, while the available power supply was often too weak to run equipment.

The lady said the situation has also limited the amount of makeup and fashion content she creates because she struggles to film properly without electricity and adequate ventilation.

She added that she had spent money meant for her upkeep on fuel to power equipment, describing the situation as both financially and mentally draining.

“Why is electricity still hard to get in 2026? Do you know how many people have missed job interviews? Do you know how many people have missed foreign gigs because of electricity?” she asked.

She said the situation was affecting her ability to work and build the life she wanted, adding that she was frustrated by having to deal with what she described as a basic necessity.

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, says having a son to inherit his business empire is not a priority as he believes his three daughters, Halima, Fatima and Mariya, are all capable to take over his business in future.

In a chat with Arise TV, Aliko was asked if he still considers having a male child, particularly given the traditional expectations surrounding male heirs in Kano, his home state.

Responding, the 69-year-old businessman said

“God controls everything. And for me, really, sometimes, yeah, you can pray for God to give you a son, but that son might be the one that would tear down the name of the family. So sometimes when God doesn’t give you something, don’t push.

Even if I had a son, I don’t think the son would have done better than these three daughters that I have.”

When asked whether he could see one of his daughters taking charge of the group, Dangote said

“I think, yes, I can see one of them. I’ve been watching all of them, so I can definitely see one of the three that can actually lead.

They are very, very interested in the business. I’m not forcing them to come and be part of this business, no. They are very interested, and they enjoy it,” he said

Dangote said he believed his daughters could surpass his achievements and take the company to a higher level.

A 15-year-old girl identified as Amarachi, has been rescued after she was allegedly locked inside a toilet for months by her bosses in their home in Abuloman, Rivers state

Amarachi, who hails from Ebonyi State, was living in the couple, Eze Simeon and his wife as a maid. She is alleged to have committed an offence, and as a punishment, she was allegedly locked up in the toilet for months, subjected to severe neglect and fed only once a day with leftover food.

She was rescued on Monday, September 15 after she raised an alarm when the couple had gone out. Her cry for help got to the neighbors who immediately contacted the police division in Abuloma.

The police immediately arrived the scene and successfully rescued the victim. The command’s spokesperson, Agabe Blessing, said investigations into the matter are ongoing. She mentioned that the couple is in police custody while the victim’s family are in Rivers state to collect her.
