A former high school friend of Omolola Okoye, wife of Peter Okoye, has come out in her defence amid the ongoing drama surrounding the Okoye family.
The woman, who described Lola as her closest friend in secondary school, said the person being portrayed online is far from the woman she has known for years.
According to her, Lola was kind, neat, humble and welcoming, recalling how friends would gather around her in boarding school while she casually swept the room without ever complaining.
She also described Lola as someone who did not hold grudges and said she had never known her to deliberately create problems for anyone.
The friend further claimed that Lola had always supported Peter's relationship with his family and did not prevent him from reconciling with his siblings.
She recalled being with Lola a day before her wedding and said she only later learned from Peter that his absence was allegedly intentional.
The woman concluded by describing Lola as “the best thing that happened to Peter”, adding that her character and upbringing could not be properly understood from what was being said about her on social media.

The actress wrote: "When my husband and I got married, he never told me that he was going to leave me in Nigeria and stay abroad for almost two years at a time. Most times, he would come home, stay for about a month, and then rush back to Europe again.
"We have had so many misunderstandings over the years because I was always left to handle everything on my own. I was practically living like a single mother while still being married.
"I gave my all to this man, including putting my career aside, because I wanted to build a home. I sacrificed so much for my family, not knowing that he was planning to bring his Ex girlfriend who is now his side chick to Europe to marry her while I continued to complain of long distance relationship
"His ex girlfriend Anita started going spiritual because my hubby promised her marriage before he met me and even after we got married, he still assured his ex that they would get married.
"Thank God for her best friend, who saw the way I always praised my husband online and felt pity for me then she traced me and sent me this video. I also discovered that my husband does a lot of things that is against my Christian life
"Imagine me praying for a man who is involved in things I can’t accept, while the woman he was involved with is also allegedly doing spiritual things concerning him. What kind of marriage is that?
"He even did first visa for her but she got denied and was about to try again. You are now free to marry her
"He also invites this same worker who is a side chick to my house to plait my daughter’s hair.
"I now look back and realize how vulnerable I was and I thank God for protecting me.
"I’ll be fasting and praying for my husband while he was busy following people that try to bring us down spiritually.
"I honestly can’t continue in a marriage like this. It is extremely painful, but I have to choose myself and my peace. I am totally done.
"I gave this marriage my all. I did my best. Now, I choose myself."
“IMAGINE IT’S NOT HARRISON?
If this could happen to me, imagine what an ordinary citizen with no public platform might face.
Videoing police officers while they are searching you is not a crime. Professional officers carrying out lawful duties should have nothing to fear from being recorded in public.
When an officer’s first concern is stopping you from recording instead of carrying out a lawful search, it raises serious questions about transparency and accountability.
Every Nigerian deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and in accordance with the law.
Observation: Incidents like this raise concerns about whether the Nigeria Police Force directives, public statements, and human rights guidelines are being adequately communicated to or followed by officers on our road”
The newly appointed Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency, Ayo Fayose, has blamed lack of electricity on the increase in the population of Nigeria.
Speaking after he assumed office as REA chairman on Friday, August 7, Fayose said
‘’When you don’t address the issue of electricity, by 7 o’clock it gets dark, and people start engaging with their wives, so the population doubles. The simple problem is that, because there is no electricity, people go to bed early. Their minds are already prepared for it. If this is the only option available, they simply stay at home. But if we address the electricity problem, there will be nightlife.’’

Popular comedian, Anita Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, has cancelled her forthcoming show in Warri, Delta State, citing what she described as “unfortunate divisions” within society.
The comedian announced the cancellation in a statement shared on Instagram, expressing disappointment over what she described as continued divisions in a society where unity should prevail.
In the heartfelt video she shared, RealWarriPikin said being an entertainer from Delta state is ‘very exhausting’ because of the tribal divisions.
‘’ The disunity in my state is very tiring, especially amongst the Ijaws, the Urhobos, the Itsekiris..I am not saying don’t fight for what is right but does it have to always be v!olent? Does it have to be oppression? I have been a victim of b#llying and oppress!on in Delta state for the past eight years. I don;t know it all. Growing up, everywhere was called Warri. Now things are changing, people are reclaiming their lands..Its okay…but why do you have to bring me down because I made a mistake’’
She mentioned that the indigene of the event center she had scheduled to host her show vowed to disrupt the event because she included Warri in the publicity he had for the show. They insisted that her show should have been tagged ‘’Real Warri Pikin live in Uvwie’’ and not ‘’real Warri Kinin live in Warri’’ because Uvwie is different from Warri.
‘’They said I should take down the billboards, social media posts, the radio gingles, take down the rollup banners, they wrote a petition. They said the show will never hold and that the day of the show they will come and scatter everything. Some other set are saying, “ Even the Warri in my name I should remove it.’’
She said the whole thing has been so tiring.
