An internet personality, Oyemkke, has cautioned Nigerians against demanding that South African singer Tyla cancel her planned performance in Nigeria, warning that such a move could have consequences for Nigerians living and doing business in South Africa.

The comment comes amid an ongoing debate over whether Nigerians should boycott Tyla’s proposed show following criticism of her alleged silence during xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other foreigners in South Africa.

According to him, Nigerians who disagree with Tyla can send a message by refusing to buy tickets or attend her show rather than calling for her to be stopped from entering Nigeria.

A young Nigerian woman, Stella Okeme, has cried out for help, alleging that she has been subjected to mistreatment and intimidation by her husband.

In a video shared online, Stella said her husband treated her well before their traditional marriage last year but allegedly changed after they got married.

She claimed that she has been bullied and physically abused and said she now wants to leave the marriage but has nowhere to go.

Stella, who has a young daughter, appealed to Nigerians to help her find a safe place to stay, saying she has no one to turn to.

He also disagreed with Omoyele Sowore whokicked against the call for a boycott for Tyla’s planned concert in Nigeria. Omoyele had argued that the xenophobic attacks Nigerians suffer outside the country are because of the failure of the Tinubu-led government.

Nigerian writer and commentator Solomon Buchi has criticised South African singer Tyla over her planned performance in Nigeria, calling on Nigerians to boycott the show.

Buchi argued that Tyla remained silent during xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other immigrants in South Africa, but is now planning to perform for Nigerian fans.

According to him, Nigerians should use the planned concert as an opportunity to make a statement against xenophobia rather than welcome the singer “with open arms.”

“Tyler must not have that show,” Buchi said, arguing that Nigerians should support local artistes instead.

He also suggested that Nigerians who love Tyla’s music could travel to South Africa to attend her shows, while urging those who attend her Nigerian concert to protest peacefully against xenophobia.

“It’s not about Tyla. I have no beef with her, but it’s about coming together as a people and saying, no, we have a voice and that voice matters,” he said.

A Nigerian nurse has warned people against giving water to accident victims immediately after a crash, explaining that what may seem like a simple act of kindness could potentially put the victim at greater risk.

According to the nurse, accident victims may be in shock or have suffered a head injury, which could affect their ability to swallow properly.

She explained that giving them water in such a condition could cause them to choke or aspirate the liquid into their lungs.

The nurse also said accident victims may require emergency surgery and anaesthesia, making it important for medical professionals to assess them before they consume anything.

She further pointed to the possibility of internal injuries and bleeding, stressing that severe thirst after an accident should not automatically be treated with water.

Rather than giving the victim water, she advised people to focus on getting emergency medical help and, while waiting, keep the person’s airway clear and avoid giving them anything to eat or drink.

Her advice has since sparked conversations online about some of the common things Nigerians do when trying to help accident victims at the scene of a crash.

A Nigerian man has narrated an encounter he claims he had with officers of the Nigeria Police Force, alleging that his phone was taken and searched while he was at a police station.

According to the man, he was stopped at a checkpoint while on his way to the bank to get money for food after his wife recently gave birth.

He said officers questioned him about his vehicle documents before allegedly taking him to their office after suspecting that he was recording them.

The man claimed that while his phone was in the possession of one of the officers, it was searched and private videos of his wife during childbirth were allegedly found on the device.

He claimed that the police officer watched the videos showing his wife during labour and in a private state while giving birth to their child, expressing shock at the alleged incident

The man also alleged that the officers demanded money for fuel during the encounter, although he said he did not have cash on him because he was heading to the bank.

He later said the situation was eventually resolved and his documents were returned to him.

OAP Dotun has called for the boycotting of South African singer Tyla’s scheduled concert in Lagos. His calls comes amidst renewed Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other African Nationals.

Tyla recently released schedules for her World Tour, which includes a Lagos performance on December 22.

President Bola Tinubu has given the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) a clean bill of health, accusing the opposition parties of crying wolf.

Speaking while receiving the leadership of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), led by its President, Most Rev. Matthew Ndagoso, at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday, President Tinubu said

A serving Nigerian military intelligence officer Colonel Abdussalam A. Ude, has been shot d3ad after reportedly resisting armed men who attempted to abduct him at his residence in Badna, New Karu local govt area of Nasarawa state.

The senior officer, who hailed from Enugu State and was said to be due for promotion to the rank of Brigadier General next year, was attacked shortly after arriving at his residence on Monday evening, July 27, 2026.

Security sources told PRNigeria that the assailants ambushed the officer as he alighted from his vehicle and opened fire in an apparent attempt to abduct him.

Rather than surrender, Colonel Ude reportedly fought back despite being heavily outnumbered, frustrating the kidnappers’ attempt to take him away.

According to the sources, the gunmen subsequently shot him multiple times at close range, k!lling him on the spot.

During the attack, the assailants also opened fire on members of his household, leaving his wife, driver and security guard with varying degrees of gunshot injuries.

The victims were rushed to a hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

His burial is scheduled to take place at the Mambilla Mosque in Abuja on Tuesday in accordance with Islamic rite.

Ude, an Igbo Muslim, hails from Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A 45-year-old Nigerian man has been jailed in the UK for the repeated s£xual assault of a woman at Euston station which he claimes was consensual.

Obinwa Obichukwu, 45, attacked the victim twice on the evening of August 20, 2023, after grabbing her hand and proclaiming his "love".

He first approached the lone woman as she walked towards the busy interchange and attempted to start a conversation about the music she was listening to.

Obichukwu then put his arm around the victim's shoulder, asked her back to his house, and pursued her down Euston Road.

Obichukwu proceeded to s£xually assault her at the station entrance and again near the ticket barriers after following her down the escalator to the Tube.

The woman managed to push him off and get away, leaving Obichukwu at the station.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers later tracked him to his Hertfordshire home address and arrested him for s£xual assault.

Obichukwu, of Armstrong Close, was found guilty on two counts in January 2026 and sentenced to two years in prison at Inner London Crown Court on July 21, 2026.

He was also given a 10-year S£xual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and will be on the s£x offenders register for a decade.

Detective Constable Daniel Burke said: "Obinwa Obichukwu is a s£xual predator who targeted a lone woman and attacked her at a busy London station. He claimed his assault was consensual and took his case to trial, but fortunately, the jury saw straight through his lies, and he’s now behind bars where he belongs.

"Tackling violence and intimidation against women and girls is a priority for us as a force, and we’re tireless in our efforts to bring offenders like Obichukwu to justice. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on African nations to to cooperate on migration and protect human rights.

He made the appeal while addressing the Pan-African Parliament on Monday, July 28, following weeks of anti-immigrant protests led by groups that accuse undocumented migrants of fueling unemployment, crime, and mounting pressure on public services.

“We need to work together to address issues like conflict, instability, poverty and social discord,” Ramaphosa said on Monday.

“As African countries, we have to acknowledge and address the conditions that drive migration in the first place,” Ramaphosa told a session of the parliament, which is the legislative body of the African Union.

South Africa is facing growing criticism from other African governments over attacks on their citizens in South Africa.

At least four migrants have been killed in the violence, including a Nigerian national who died while under arrest in Cape Town.

The attacks were “sad and abhorrent”, Ramaphosa said, adding that “we in South Africa deeply regret and mourn” the lives lost. “We’ve taken a firm stand against hatred for people from other countries, xenophobia or Afrophobia,” Ramaphosa said.

Thousands of African migrants have left South Africa over the past two months, with countries including Ghana, Nigeria, and Malawi assisting in the voluntary repatriation of their citizens.
