I know that's an absurdly obvious thing to say, but it always amuses me how attached people become to what's happening on Instagram or TikTok or Facebook and assume it's actually happening.
When you put the phone down and stop trying to keep up with the digital zeitgeist, you realise that almost all of it is online back channel nonsense that's never going beyond a few keyboard warriors.
When you connect to the world in your immediate reality and the people you actually see in person, you find it's a much more enjoyable place to live.
