I hardly pray to God since I noticed how pointless it is to pray and beg God for things. If God is all-knowing and all-powerful and has a perfect plan for me, he understands my needs and I can't make him change his mind, so why pray?
Telling God my needs feels like I am accusing him of being ignorant of what's going on in my life. And begging him to do something for my situation feels like I am suggesting he's not caring enough. I mean, he knows everything and he is super caring, so why petition him?
I've also been worried about the numerous petitions people make that get ZERO answers. Many people passing through tough situations ACTIVELY called on God to intervene, but got no response.
Take my mom for example. She has been a dedicated woman of faith, she attends Deeper Life and has never missed even a weekly service. From my father's pension she opened a poultry farm back in the village and became the biggest poultry farmer in the whole village. Yet despite all her prayers, tithes, offerings and dedication to God, I can't count how much money she has lost in that poultry business, 20yrs+ now. She has gone into serious debt because of it. If God is truly who he says he is, that his plan for us is of good and not of ****, doesn't he look after his own?
For instance, many people in Nigeria claim to hear from God, from traditionalists to Christians, yet God has not told anyone where kidnappers are holding those school kids. I am genuinely worried that it's either God does NOT intervene in human affairs or we got the concept of prayers a bit off.
I've seen good things I wished for come to pass in my life. If what someone wishes for is objectively good, a perfectly loving and powerful God should bring it to pass regardless of whether you ask. Thus, praying and begging God is completely pointless.
If God already has a plan for your life, then praying means you don't trust that plan.
So what exactly are we doing?
