Bauchi community leader shot d3ad by his neighbour after argument at beer parlourThe Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Clement Anthony for the m8rder of a community leader in Bauchi metropolis and recovered the firearm allegedly used in the attack.The 55-year-old victim, Jacob Bature, was the Mai Anguwa of Unguwar Ngas in the Inkil area of Bauchi Local Government Area. The spokesperson SP Nafiu Habib, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, July 20, 2026 said officers recovered a locally made single-barrel gun and one expended cartridge from the suspect. According to the PPRO, the incident happened at about Sunday evening, July 19, when the suspect armed himself with the locally made gun and opened fire on the community leader. Bature sustained severe gunshot wounds to his right ribs and collapsed. He was immediately rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where a medical doctor confirmed him d3ad.
