“Nobody borrows money more than married women” — Actress Juliet Cassie advises husbands to take responsibility for their families
Nollywood actress Juliet Cassie has advised married men to take greater responsibility for their wives and families.
In a video shared online, the actress claimed that married women are often forced into financial difficulties after marriage, especially women who were financially independent before getting married.
“Nobody borrows money more than married women. And I’m not even saying this from a place of insult. I’m saying it from a place of concern,” she said.
According to her, marriage and motherhood can affect a woman’s ability to earn and manage her finances, making it important for husbands to support their wives.
She urged men to make life easier for their wives by providing useful household equipment and sharing responsibilities instead of placing more pressure on them.
Cassie also criticised husbands who spend money on other women while neglecting their wives, describing such behaviour as financial abuse.
She said women may increasingly choose their careers over marriage when they see marriage as something that leaves them financially worse off.
“Do not blame them if they choose not to get married or have children when they see no benefits to it,” she added.
