19-year-old housewife arrested for poisoning her husband 40 days after wedding in BauchiThe Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old housewife, Aisha Musa, for attempting to m8rder her husband by poisoning his food 40 days after their wedding.The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, August 13, 2026 said the incident occurred in Gwamma village, Bauchi Local Government Area of the state.According to the PPRO, the suspect allegedly mixed a poisonous substance into her husband’s meal on August 12. Habib said a distress call was received from an anonymous woman, prompting officers to immediately mobilize to the scene. The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he is receiving treatment.Habib said the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and confessed during interrogation. An empty bottle suspected to contain poison and remnants of the food were recovered and duly registered as exhibits.
