Part 7 (Final): The Knock at 3 AM.

Elena stared at the third girl's face in the photograph until the edges of the room seemed to tilt.

"Who is she?" Elena whispered.

The voice at the door had gone very quiet. Too quiet. When it spoke again, it wasn't gentle anymore it wasn't her mother's voice, or her sister's. It was flat. Unplaceable. Something wearing borrowed voices the way it wore borrowed faces.

"She's the one you left on the bridge," it said. "The one none of you talk about. The one we became."

Elena's knees buckled against the counter. Pieces she hadn't let herself assemble in eight months slid into place all at once a fight on the railing, a scream cut short by water, two girls running home and agreeing, without ever saying it out loud, to forget a third girl had ever existed.

"That's not possible," Elena said. "I don't I would remember"

"You made yourself forget," the voice said. "So we made ourselves remembered."

The photograph in Elena's hand began to curl at the edges, browning like it was aging decades in seconds, the third girl's smiling face darkening until it was unrecognizable char.

The knocking started again. Not three raps this time dozens, rapid, frantic, from every door and window in the house at once.

Elena's phone buzzed one last time. She looked down with hands that wouldn't stop shaking.

New message: There's only one way to make it stop. Say her name. The one you forgot. Say it before sunrise, or she keeps knocking forever.

Elena closed her eyes. And somewhere, buried under eight months of carefully constructed forgetting, a name surfaced small, and quiet, and finally spoken out loud into the dark of her kitchen.

The knocking stopped.

The porch light outside flickered once, and went dark.

And in the silence that followed, Elena realized she couldn't remember what she'd just said at all.
