Woman arrested for allegedly st@bbing her co-wife to d3ath in Kogi community

A Fulani woman identified as Khadijat has been arrested for allegedly st@bbing her co-wife, Ramatu, to d3ath following a disagreement between them in Ijoka community, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026, while members of the family were in the bush harvesting palm kernels.

A presenter with Ankpa Radio-Television confirmed the arrest in a video posted on Sunday, August 23.

Speaking in an earlier video, the women’s husband, Jibrin, said he received a call at 4pm concerning an incident involving his wives and other members of the family.

He said Ramatu reportedly raised an alarm and cried for help while the attack was taking place.

Her cries attracted the attention of other family members who were harvesting palm kernels in another part of the bush.

Jibrin said that when the family members attempted to move towards the location, Khadijat allegedly warned them not to enter the area, claiming that it was unsafe.

By the time the family members reached the location, Khadijat had reportedly fled the area.

Jibrin said Ramatu was found with multiple st@b wounds and was already d3ad.

He said the circumstances surrounding the incident later pointed to Khadijat as the alleged attacker.

Jibrin said the two women had a disagreement several weeks before the incident.

According to him, the family did not realise that the earlier dispute could eventually result in a violent confrontation.

He alleged that Khadijat may have continued to harbour resentment over the disagreement before the fatal incident.
