Man cheats de@th after getting struck by lighteningA New York man survived being struck by lightning during a storm on Staten Island, with surveillance footage capturing the moment he was hit.Thomas Fahmy, who reportedly works for Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, was walking along a street on Staten Island on Thursday night when he was struck by lightning, according to NBC News.Surveillance footage obtained by NBC showed Fahmy falling to the ground after being hit by a red flash of light. Despite the impact, he quickly got back on his feet and walked to a nearby house to seek help.Fahmy said he experienced a “very intense burning sensation” as well as “tingling, numbness, pain, severe pain, in both my feet.” He also said he remained conscious throughout the incident.Despite being struck by lightning, Fahmy suffered only minor injuries. He was treated overnight at a local hospital and later released.Fahmy reportedly works in Malliotakis’ Staten Island office.
