“I could have bought land” – Man cries out as ₦20k Bank shares bought 18 years ago crashes to ₦5332A Nigerian man has cried out after checking the value of shares he reportedly bought in a commercial bank 18 years ago.The man expressed disappointment after discovering that his ₦20,000 investment had allegedly yielded only ₦5,332.50 in returns, according to his account.The man explained that he bought the Bank shares about 18 years ago but had never checked how much he had made from the investment.“I bought shares with a Fidelity Bank 18 years ago, and I have not checked how much I’ve made on this share. So I decided to go and check how much I have made on this share,” he said.He recalled that he invested ₦20,000 at the time.“I used N20,000 to buy this share 18 years ago. So, surprisingly, I went on 14th of September, 2026, this last week now they said what my share has given me is N5,332.50, what is it?” he stated.The man questioned the return on his investment, expressing surprise that the amount he was told he had earned was ₦5,332.50 after nearly two decades.
