Bishop David Oyedepo has advised young Nigerians against seeing ******* as a pathway to financial success, urging them to stop wasting their potential in pursuit of quick money.

Speaking to young people, the founder of Living Faith Church said, “BetNaija is not the way to financial fortune,” stressing that genuine success may take time but is more sustainable.

He encouraged the youth to embrace patience and hard work, sharing how he eventually honoured the woman who introduced him to Christianity by buying her a car years after she led him to Christ.

“It may be slow, but it’s sure,” Oyedepo said, urging young people to rethink their pursuit of quick wealth.

Nigerian comedian AY Makun has revealed why he stopped attending church for a period, saying it was not because he had lost his faith in God but because he was going through a personal season after negative stories about him circulated online.

According to AY, he became uncomfortable with the possibility of being judged or subjected to whispers whenever he walked into church, choosing instead to worship online occasionally. He later attended another church where he said he felt welcomed and believed he had found a place to call home.

However, he said he was later removed from an upcoming programme after concerns were raised about the public perception surrounding him. The experience left him questioning whether public opinion had become more important than a person's relationship with God.

AY said he was not attacking pastors or asking people to disregard whatever they believed about him, but questioned whether the church should not be a place where people can find truth, grace and restoration regardless of what they are facing.

“I still believe in Jesus Christ as a Christian,” he said, before referencing Matthew 11:28 and asking: “Who is the church really for?”

Popular internet personality and OAP, Bolanle Okukanni has shared why she believes God reveals who a person should marry if they sincerely seek His guidance.

Speaking in a video, she recounted dating a man she described as kind, prayerful, and deeply committed to his Christian faith. However, while considering a future with him, she said she had a dream in which they were getting married, but noticed he was wearing Muslim prayer beads.

Comedian Princewill has broken his silence following the allegations made by his ex-wife, who recently accused him of repeated domestic violence during their marriage.

In a video shared online, Princewill said he had initially planned to release a detailed response but decided to hold back after speaking with his pastor, whom he said advised him otherwise. According to him, he deleted most of the content he had prepared out of respect for his children and to avoid escalating the situation.

Responding to some of the claims, Princewill denied several of the allegations made against him, insisting that he had continued to support his ex-wife financially after their separation, including contributing towards rent, healthcare and other expenses.

He admitted that he slapped his ex-wife on two occasions during their marriage, saying he was not proud of it and had apologised for his actions. However, he also accused her of being unfaithful during the marriage, claiming he chose to remain silent for the sake of their family.

Police have named a 16-year-old boy who d!ed after getting into difficulty in a lake in Lincoln, United Kingdom.

Iretomiwa Abiodun Micheal, also known as Tomiwa, was rescued from Swanholme Lakes on 9 July, 2026 and d!ed later in hospital, Lincolnshire Police said in a statement on Friday, July 17.

Lincolnshire Police received a call at around 5:48pm reporting a concern for safety at the popular lake location.

Emergency services, including Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and the East Midlands Ambulance Service, attended the scene to rescue the boy.

Despite initial signs of response to treatment at the location, he sadly passed away at the hospital at 8:50pm with his parents by his side.

Police have announced that a file will be passed to the coroner for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.

In the statement issued by Lincolnshire Police, Tomiwa’s parents, Abiodun and Tope Micheal, described him as a “vibrant, energetic and unforgettable young man whose presence illuminated every space he entered”.

“His laughter, warmth and joyful spirit touched countless lives,” they added.

Tomiwa was the eldest of four brothers and was described as a “protector” and “constant source of encouragement”.

“His younger brothers adored him and he cared for them with tenderness, always making them smile and supporting them in every way,” his parents said.

The parents said Tomiwa, who played for Greenbank FC and Lincoln City FC, was a “social butterfly” who always made friends.

“He consistently sought the good of others and uplifted those around him,” they said.

“His home was filled with laughter because of his unique spirit, infectious joy and generous heart.”

Tomiwa was also an active member of the church youth ministry.

“Tomiwa leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, discipline, joy and compassion. Though his life was short, it was profoundly impactful,” his parents said.

“He leaves a lasting example for his brothers, comfort for his parents and cherished memories for everyone who knew him.

“Tomiwa will forever remain in our heart.”

The ex-wife of comedian Princewill has publicly shared her side of their marriage, alleging that she endured repeated domestic violence before their separation.

In a lengthy video, she said she had remained silent for a long time out of fear, anxiety and a desire for peace, but decided to speak after what she described as false narratives about the collapse of their marriage began circulating online.

She denied allegations that she was unfaithful, insisting that infidelity was never cited in the divorce petition. Instead, she alleged that the marriage broke down due to repeated physical abuse and her ex-husband's alleged infidelity.

The mother of two also revealed that she and one of her children are still undergoing therapy following the events. She added that she has received threats and appealed to the public to hold those she named accountable if anything happens to her or her family.

Police arrested the suspect identified as Richard Nangibo for allegedly k!lling Caroline during a domestic dispute over allegations of infidelity in Eneka, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, July 11, 2026 reportedly began after the suspect confronted the deceased over claims that she was being unfaithful.

According to residents, the disagreement escalated into a physical assault during which the woman allegedly fell and struck her head against a sharp edge of a wall, suffering fatal injuries.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 15, Sunday claimed that Richard is an internet fraudster and had manipulated his sister in order to use her for ritual.

He also accused the suspect’s family of ignoring them and trying to use money to manipulate the case.
