"Nigeria is hectic, but it is still home. When you go to other countries, you will realise how far we are from where we should be. But the vibe and energy are still there. There is a hustle spirit that comes with being Nigerian. I really wish the country was better.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life living in Nigeria. I don't think that there is any successful person who wants to live in Nigeria after retirement. Maybe there are some people. But the way I picture my retirement is living in a big....."

Imagine a world where economic success is measured not only by financial growth and productivity, but also by how well we protect families, wildlife, natural habitats, and the communities that depend on them.

Every forest cleared for development can affect countless animals that rely on those ecosystems for food, shelter, reproduction, and survival.

While businesses continue expanding and investing in new infrastructure, the long-term economic value of healthy forests, biodiversity, clean water, and thriving ecosystems is often overlooked.

Perhaps the future we should be working toward isn't simply one with more wealth and advanced technology, but one where children can grow up surrounded by nature rather than learning about disappearing wildlife in history books.

"Now, it now moves from parents to family. Change it. Next thing is the pressure on first borns. Let us breathe.

I thank God for the kind of mother that I have. Let us breathe. Another pressure is pressure to succeed. Success means different things to different people. Success can just be me sleeping in my house every day, waking up and telling my children I love you. I might not want to work. The standard of success in Nigeria needs to be redefined.

I feel like I'm the right person to say all of this. Special advice, you don't have to take it oh, you don't have to take it but the pressure that is in this twenty twenty six, I feel sorry, I feel sorry for people out there. May God not allow you have lived for 60 years and out of the 60 years you spent 50 years getting angry. Parents, society..."

Nollywood actress, Ruth She has called on the younger generation to change societal pressure on firstborns and the definition of success.

‘Which ex-governor resides in Games Village?’ — Ortom says successor Alia cancelled his entitlements

Samuel Ortom, former governor of Benue state, says Hyacinth Alia, his successor, cancelled his entitlements, including provisions for a house and annual medical checks.

Ortom spoke in an interview with Channels Television’s Political Paradigm where he discussed the benefits he was entitled to as an ex-governor.

He said the state government denied him the entitlements provided for under the law as enacted by the Benue state house of assembly.

Ortom added that his monthly salary was less than N600,000, adding that it was no different from what other governors earned.

"I met my girlfriend when she had nothing. No admission, nothing. I loved her, so I sponsored her university from 100 level to final year. School fees, hostel, handouts, everything. I did it because I believed we had a future.

    ‎

‎She graduated with a good result. I was happy, like her success was mine. ‎Then she wanted to do her Masters in the UK. I helped her again. I supported her admission, I contributed money for her fees and flight. The plan was simple: she would go first, settle, then I would join her. We would build our life there together.

    ‎

‎She traveled. The first few weeks she was calling, telling me she missed me. ‎Then she changed. Calls became short. She was always busy. Then she stopped picking completely. ‎One day I tried to call her, WhatsApp blocked. Her UK number was switched off. Just like that.

    ‎

‎Till today, I have not heard from her. ‎The girl I trained in university, the girl I helped to move to the UK, the girl I was supposed to join, blocked me and disappeared"

Former Super Eagles Star Cries Out Over Alleged Invasion Of His Owerri Hospital

Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has raised an alarm over what he described as an invasion of his hospital in Owerri by operatives of the Imo State Police and waste management officials.

Emenike claimed that the incident occurred on October 21, 2026, and resulted in panic among patients and the arrest of two hospital staff. He noted that a similar incident had earlier taken place on September 25.

Reacting to the development on Instagram, he wrote:

"After representing my dear country on the international stage, playing in Europe and celebrating the trophy of winning the Africa Cup of Nations, I chose to bring my experience and success home to Imo State. I invested in my community and built a hospital - a place where people could seek care, find comfort and hold on to hope. It was a gesture of faith in my people and a commitment to helping my home state thrive. That is why the reports of what happened today 21st October, 2026 at Emenike Hospital are so painful. A place built to care for people should never become a place where patients are afraid and staff are left feeling unsafe. We call on the hospital community to receive the protection and support it needs. Imo State deserves investment. Its people deserve safety. And every hospital should remain a place of care and hope."

Bolt and inDrive driver goes viral after praying for safety, higher fares and customers who cancel rides

A Nigerian Bolt and inDrive driver has gone viral after sharing a prayer he says before starting work, asking God for safety, good earnings and the ability to provide for his wife and children.

In the video, the driver prayed for a safe and successful day, with enough money to pay his children’s school fees and take care of his family.

He also prayed for higher fares, mentioning the amounts he wanted drivers to charge for trips between different locations in Lagos, including Sango-Tedo, Lekki, the airport and Ikeja.

The driver complained about rising fuel costs, asking God not to let drivers bear the burden alone. He also prayed for Nigerians to protest and reclaim the country from its leaders.

He then turned his prayers to customers who cancel rides after requesting them, asking God to punish them and jokingly calling for thunder to strike those who cancel trips worth โ‚ฆ1,400.

NAF helicopter makes ‘precautionary landing’ on farmland in Benue two days after Ondo crash

The Nigerian Air Force has said that one of its helicopters made a “precautionary landing” on a farmland in Benue State while returning from an operation against suspected kidnappers along the Enugu-Benue boundary

Eyewitnesses said the helicopter landed on a farmland in Utur Tse-Igboji community, Bar Council Ward along Welfare Quarters to Mopol 13 Ring Road in Makurdi, the state capital.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, who confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the helicopter had successfully disrupted the activities of suspected kidnappers during the operation.

“The helicopter had successfully provided close air support to surface forces during an operation targeting suspected kidnappers in the Ogbadigbo area of Benue State, near the Enugu-Benue boundary. The operation disrupted the activities of the criminal elements and supported the advance of surface forces,” the statement read.

“Following the successful completion of the mission, the pilot, on return to base, exercised his professional discretion to execute a precautionary landing approximately 10 nautical miles from the airfield.

“This is in accordance with established operational and safety procedures following combat missions. The helicopter has returned to base.

“The NAF remains committed to sustaining pressure on criminal elements, providing close air support to surface forces and protecting communities through coordinated air and ground operations.

“The successful outcome underscores the NAF’s continued resolve to deny criminal elements freedom of action and support efforts to restore safety and security to affected communities.”
