“The ‘Olodo Uprising’ was fathered by weaponised ignorance, not by one person” — Dele Farotimi weighs in on Ycee’s comments

Human rights lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi has shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate surrounding rapper Ycee's "Olodo Uprising" comment, arguing that the problem is far deeper than any individual.

Speaking in a recent video, Farotimi said what Ycee described as the "Olodo Uprising" is merely the end result of a problem that has been developing for decades.

According to him, he first wrote about what he called "weaponised ignorance" in 1994, describing it as a deliberate system used by the Nigerian state to keep citizens uninformed, which eventually led to widespread poverty and the decline of critical thinking.

He argued that what Nigerians are witnessing today is the product of years of elevating ignorance, adding that many people now reject verifiable facts simply because they conflict with their ethnic, religious or political beliefs.

Farotimi concluded that while many are focused on the so-called "Olodo Uprising," the real issue is the "weaponised ignorance" that gave birth to it.

    MONEY IS A WEAPON

Weaponise your money and don't womanize with your money. If you properly weaponise and adequately utilize your money today, it would shield and protect you from financial embarrassment tomorrow.

However, if you refuse to weaponise and then womanize with your hard earned money today, you will be greatly exposed to ignoble financial harassment in the nearest future.

Money is a weapon and wise people use their money to weaponise themselves, while foolish people use their money to womanize by themselves. Money is a weapon, you either use it to your advantage or use it to your disadvantage.

Money is like a sharp knife, you can either use it to cut meat in the kitchen or use it to injure yourself. If you weaponise your money today, you will surely win tomorrow. But if you womanize with your money today, you will surely weep tomorrow. The choice is yours. Good afternoon ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ„
