A former Colombian p0rn star has been elected in Colombia on a platform of fighting for the rights of adult-content creators.

Deyci Alejandra Omana Ortiz, who was known as Amaranta Hank in X-rated circles, was sworn in as a senator for the left-wing Historic Pact party in Bogotá on Monday, the Colombian outlet La Opinión reported.

Ortiz, 33, was a former journalist who became a p0rn star in 2017 before leaving the industry two years later, turning to politics.

She was elected in March in the Norte de Santander region and is now working to guarantee social security rights for adult-content creators.

Ortiz has claimed people working in the adult industry need legal protections to prevent exploitation by companies and agencies.

“These women have been unprotected by the state because, due to misinformation, prejudice and double standards, no one has declared to regulate it,” she said in a campaign video.

She has clapped back against critics who claim former adult stars shouldn’t run for office.

“Why can’t a woman who was in the adult industry aspire to a popularly elected office?” she said, citing past former p0rn stars turned politicians such as Ilona Staller – who rose to fame with her 1970s radio show “Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?” before becoming an Italian lawmaker. My experience allowed me to understand inequality, the struggle for freedom and the popular economy, arguments that I now promise to bring directly into legislative debate. The problem is that society consumes adult films but denies us the possibility of speaking in spaces of power.”

Every post you create, every meaningful comment you leave, every day you stay active, and every 9JC you earn is building something bigger than many people realize.

Our most active members and dedicated 9JC minters are the foundation of the 9jawap community. They are not just users; they are helping shape the future of the platform.

We are working towards a future where 9JC becomes more than a reward for activity. Our goal is to give active community members new ways to benefit, including opportunities to invest their earned 9JC within the 9jawap ecosystem and enjoy even greater value as the platform grows.

This is why consistency matters.

The people earning and holding 9JC today are positioning themselves to take advantage of future opportunities we're building for our community.

If you're already active, keep going.

If you've been away, now is the perfect time to return.

The future belongs to those who show up early and stay consistent.

Earn. Hold. Grow with 9jawap.

Videos circulating on the platform show creators, among them a young woman filmed lathering herself with a sponge while dressed in her regular clothing, performing the routine live to draw attention and encourage viewers to send virtual gifts, which can later be converted into money.

The trend has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many Ghanaians questioning the lengths some creators are willing to go to monetize their content.

How on earth will you bath on your live all in the name of receiving gifts,” one user remarked in a widely shared reaction video, capturing the mixed amusement and criticism trailing the trend.

While the woman in the viral clip remained fully clothed throughout, critics argue the stunt reflects a broader, concerning pattern in which creators adopt increasingly attention-grabbing gimmicks to stand out in TikTok’s competitive live-streaming space, where gifting is central to a creator’s earnings

When software developer Peter Nthei Muoki pitched a smart parental control tool to Safaricom, he was told it would not work. A year later, the telecom giant launched the same feature.

For a long time, independent tech creators in Kenya felt helpless when large corporations took their ideas. Many believed that a solo developer could never win a fight against a corporate giant.

However, a recent landmark decision by the High Court in Nairobi has changed that narrative completely.

The court ordered Safaricom, East Africa's biggest telecom company, to pay local software engineer Peter Nthei Muoki KSh 1.4 billion in damages. The judge also ruled that Muoki must receive an ongoing royalty of 0.5 percent of gross M-Pesa revenue for as long as the company uses his feature.
