“I paid โ‚ฆ9.1m in rent for this apartment, yet after furnishing it, the house started falling apart” — TikTok user laments

A TikTok user has shared her experience after paying โ‚ฆ9.1 million in rent for an apartment in Lagos, only to allegedly spend another โ‚ฆ3.5 million fixing issues with the property.

Zaynab Yusuph said the problems began after she completed the interior and furnishing of the apartment, with the roof reportedly leaking and causing her to live with mould for more than a month.

She said she eventually spent over โ‚ฆ3.5 million on repairs and construction work, including the roof, POP and other structural issues, which she believed should have been handled by the landlord.

According to Zaynab, she repeatedly reported the problems to the caretaker and landlord through calls, text messages and reminders, but claimed nothing was done.

She said she was eventually forced to pay for the repairs herself because she could not continue living in what she described as a deteriorating environment.

“What makes it worse is the nonchalant attitude of both the landlord and the caretaker. Whenever I report an issue, they tend not to respond until things deteriorate even further,” she wrote.

Zaynab also claimed that the landlord and caretaker often shifted responsibility to the developer and asked her to wait for the issues to be resolved.

“So basically, I paid the rent, I paid to maintain the property, and now I am expected to just absorb over โ‚ฆ3.5m in expenses as if it’s nothing?” she asked.

She shared the experience to warn prospective tenants about allegedly poorly constructed properties and urged people to thoroughly inspect apartments before paying millions of naira in rent.

Zaynab said she has receipts, videos, messages and repair records documenting the issues.

Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has spoken about his recent legal ordeal in the United Kingdom, saying he remained confident throughout because he believed he was innocent of the allegations against him.

Poco Lee made the comments during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the footage on Instagram on Sunday, September 13. The entertainer said his main concerns during the period were about his associates and business activities rather than the allegations themselves. “I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone,” he said.

“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys.”

VeryDarkMan also expressed support for Poco Lee and questioned the circumstances surrounding reports about the entertainer’s situation in the UK. He also acknowledged the support shown to Poco Lee by singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago.

The comments come amid conflicting reports online about the status of the criminal case against Poco Lee in the UK. Some reports claimed that he had been released from prison, while others suggested that the complainant had withdrawn from the case or that the matter had been settled out of court. However, the Crown Prosecution Service said the case remained active.

Responding to an inquiry from PUNCH Online on Saturday, the CPS Press Office confirmed that Odinaka was still scheduled to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026. “This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026,” the CPS said.

The hearing is a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing, a pre-trial proceeding dealing with a defendant’s plea and preparations for trial. The CPS did not state whether Odinaka was currently in custody or had been granted bail. Odinaka is facing five s3xual offence charges in the UK, comprising attempted r@pe, two counts of r@pe and two counts of assault by penetration.

The case reportedly followed his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14. Snaresbrook Crown Court had earlier confirmed that his case was listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15.

The court also imposed a reporting restriction to protect the identity of the complainant under Section 1 of the S3xual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992. Poco Lee has denied committing the alleged offences.

Part 4 (Final): The Locksmith Who Opened a Dead Man's Final Door

A year after the safe's fateful opening, Desmond returned to the memorial garden he'd helped Wilhelmina establish, now flourishing beautifully with the seasons' careful tending, standing as a genuine testament to healing grown from tragedy.

"I can't believe it's already been a year," Wilhelmina said, joining him among the blooming flowers, warmth and genuine peace evident in her steady expression considerably different from the devastated woman he'd first comforted twelve months earlier.

"You've healed remarkably," Desmond observed, studying her with quiet admiration. "I'm genuinely proud of everything you've accomplished, both with this garden and within yourself."

"I couldn't have properly managed any of it without you," Wilhelmina said sincerely, reaching for his hand. "Your patience, your genuine support you've meant more to my healing than I properly know how to express."

Desmond felt his heart swell with matching affection, having spent the past year watching her transform grief into genuine, meaningful purpose. He'd been planning this particular moment carefully for weeks, waiting specifically for the memorial garden's anniversary to feel properly significant.

"I have something to ask you," he said, retrieving a small, carefully wrapped box from his jacket pocket.

Wilhelmina's breath caught, watching him kneel carefully among her mother's memorial flowers.

"Wilhelmina, this past year, watching you courageously confront painful truth and transform it into something genuinely beautiful, has shown me exactly the kind of remarkable, resilient partner I've been hoping to find throughout my entire life. I love you completely, genuinely, and I'd like to build a future together, honoring both difficult truth and genuine, chosen happiness. Will you marry me?"

Tears spilled freely down Wilhelmina's cheeks as she pulled him up into a joyful, complete embrace. "Yes," she said immediately, overwhelming happiness evident in her radiant expression. "Completely, genuinely, without a single moment of hesitation."

As they embraced amid her mother's peaceful memorial garden, Desmond understood profoundly that sometimes the most meaningful connections emerge precisely from courageously confronting life's most difficult truths together proof that even devastating discoveries could ultimately nurture genuine healing, unexpected love, and lasting, meaningful partnership.

They married the following spring, exchanging vows in the very garden that had become such a powerful symbol of transformation grief properly honored, truth finally uncovered, and genuine happiness courageously chosen despite difficult circumstances.

"I think," Wilhelmina said that evening, resting peacefully against Desmond as their wedding celebration continued joyfully around them, "my mother would be genuinely happy, witnessing exactly this kind of healing and happiness blooming from such painful, complicated truth."

Desmond smiled, pulling her closer with complete, genuine contentment. "I believe you're entirely right. Sometimes the most beautiful, unexpected gifts emerge precisely from courageously confronting our most difficult, complicated histories."

Part 2: The Portrait That Painted Her Killer

Ines watched, frozen, as the charcoal features continued sharpening with agonizing slowness a strong jawline emerging first, then the shape of deep-set eyes, each detail materializing as though some invisible hand guided the transformation.

"Please," she whispered to the portrait, "show me faster. Before it's too late for whatever you're trying to warn me about."

"He knows the portrait exists," Ottilie's fading voice warned. "He's been searching for it since the day I died. If he realizes you've discovered what it's revealing"

The voice cut off abruptly, the studio falling into sudden, heavy silence.

Ines's phone buzzed unexpectedly on the nearby table a text from an unknown number, arriving at exactly the wrong moment to feel like coincidence.

Unknown number: I heard you've been going through your aunt's old things. Anything interesting turn up?

Chills spread through her entire body. She glanced back at the portrait, the emerging face now nearly complete familiar in a way that made her stomach twist with dawning, horrified recognition.

It was Desmond Ashgrove. Her aunt's longtime neighbor, a quiet, unassuming man who'd attended Ottilie's funeral, offered condolences, even helped Ines move several boxes during her initial estate cleanup.

She typed back carefully, hands trembling. Just old paintings. Nothing particularly interesting.

Unknown number: Good. Keep it that way.

The threat, thinly veiled but unmistakable, settled ice-cold through her chest. She looked back at the portrait one final time, the face now completely, undeniably rendered Desmond's unmistakable features staring back at her from her great-aunt's final, desperate artistic testament.

Ines called Detective Marlowe Chen immediately, voice shaking as she explained everything the shifting portrait, Ottilie's whispered warning, the threatening text that had arrived at precisely the wrong moment.

"I need you to stay somewhere safe tonight," Marlowe said firmly, once Ines finished her disjointed, frightened account. "I'll dispatch someone immediately to properly secure that portrait as evidence, and we'll bring Desmond Ashgrove in for questioning first thing tomorrow."

"Do you actually believe me?" Ines asked, uncertain whether her impossible account would receive genuine, serious consideration.

"I've seen stranger things prove entirely true," Marlowe said carefully. "And given how specifically threatening that text message was, I believe we have more than sufficient reason to properly investigate Desmond regardless of the portrait's inexplicable nature."

Part 4 (Final): The Piano Tuner Who Found a Confession in the Strings

Ambrose and Iris's relationship developed steadily over the following months, built genuinely on shared appreciation for music, patient craftsmanship, and the meaningful connection that had first blossomed through Marguerite's healing journey. Marguerite herself watched their growing romance with genuine, joyful approval, delighted that something so beautiful had emerged from her own family's decades-long tragedy.

"I never anticipated," Marguerite said one evening, watching Ambrose and Iris together during a family gathering, "that finally learning Eleanor's fate might also lead toward such genuine happiness for my own granddaughter."

"Neither did I," Ambrose admitted, smiling warmly toward Iris. "Though I'm profoundly grateful for how everything unfolded, however unexpectedly."

A year after the case's difficult but necessary resolution, Ambrose invited Iris to his workshop, having spent considerable time preparing something meaningful for the occasion the very piano that had once concealed Eleanor's tragic letters, now fully restored and beautifully refurbished.

"I wanted to properly complete this piano's story," he explained, watching Iris study the instrument with evident admiration. "Not simply as a vessel for tragedy, but as a symbol of genuine healing and new beginnings."

He sat at the piano, playing a gentle, original melody he'd composed specifically for this moment, before turning to Iris with visible, nervous anticipation.

"Iris," he said, retrieving a small ring from his pocket, "this piano brought unexpected truth and healing to your family, and unexpected, genuine love into my own life. I've fallen completely in love with you, your talent, your compassion, and your remarkable ability to find beauty even amid difficult circumstances. Will you marry me?"

"Yes," Iris said immediately, joyful tears spilling freely as she embraced him fully. "Completely, genuinely, without a single moment of hesitation."

Marguerite, who'd been quietly present throughout the tender proposal, wiped away her own emotional tears, genuine happiness evident in her weathered, joyful expression. "Eleanor would be so pleased," she said softly, "witnessing exactly this kind of beautiful, unexpected happiness emerging from her own difficult, tragic story."

As Ambrose and Iris embraced beside the beautifully restored piano, Marguerite watching with profound joy nearby, Ambrose understood completely that sometimes the most meaningful discoveries whether uncovering long-buried truth or genuine, unexpected love emerged precisely from courageous, compassionate commitment to properly honoring difficult, complicated histories.

They married the following spring, exchanging vows with the restored piano prominently featured during their small, intimate ceremony a beautiful, meaningful testament to how tragedy, properly and compassionately confronted, could ultimately nurture genuine healing and unexpected new beginnings for an entire family.

Part 4 (Final): The Cobbler Who Mended Broken Promises

Word spread quickly through the town about Rosalind and Edmund's miraculous reunion, Isolde's small cobbler shop suddenly attracting curious visitors eager to understand the remarkable magic that had reunited two people separated by an impossible, ancient curse.

"I never anticipated such attention," Isolde admitted to Rosalind and Edmund, who'd taken to visiting regularly, genuine friendship developing steadily following their extraordinary reunion. "Though I confess, witnessing your reunion has renewed my own faith in the gift's true, profound potential."

"Perhaps it's time you considered using it more deliberately yourself," Rosalind suggested gently. "Rather than simply waiting cautiously for others to properly request it."

Isolde considered the suggestion seriously, old hesitation warring against newfound inspiration. "I've spent years worried about unpredictable consequences, admittedly. Though perhaps witnessing your genuine happiness has shown me the magic's capacity for profound good, rather than simply potential complication."

"Is there anyone you might wish to properly reconnect with?" Edmund asked curiously. "Using the gift yourself, I mean."

Isolde felt old, carefully buried longing stirring unexpectedly. "There was someone, actually. Years ago, before I properly inherited this shop. A man I cared for deeply, though circumstances eventually separated us before either of us properly addressed our genuine feelings."

    "What happened?" Rosalind asked gently.

"He left to pursue opportunities elsewhere," Isolde admitted. "I told myself pursuing him would have been foolish, given my responsibilities here. I've often wondered, though, what might have happened had I properly taken that particular risk."

"Perhaps it's not too late," Edmund suggested carefully. "Given everything we've just experienced ourselves."

Isolde considered the possibility seriously, months of watching genuine, unexpected happiness unfold finally inspiring her toward courage she'd long denied herself. That evening, after Rosalind and Edmund departed, she carefully selected a pair of her own worn shoes, mending them with the same deliberate, genuine intention she'd offered countless customers over the years.

The magic responded immediately, warm light gathering around her as she finally, courageously decided to properly test her family's remarkable gift on her own behalf.

She found herself moments later standing outside a modest workshop in a distant town, uncertain exactly how she'd arrived, though genuine hope building steadily as familiar warmth radiated from within.

A man emerged from the workshop, recognition dawning slowly across his weathered, considerably aged features. "Isolde?"

"Theodore," she breathed, overwhelming emotion crashing over her at finally, properly reuniting with the man she'd quietly loved and regretfully lost touch with for years. "I know this seems impossible, but"

"You're here," Theodore said simply, closing the distance between them with genuine wonder and unmistakable joy. "I've thought about you constantly, Isolde. I always regretted never properly expressing how deeply I cared, before circumstances separated us."

"I felt exactly the same," Isolde admitted, tears gathering as years of quiet regret finally, properly resolved into genuine, unexpected reunion.

As they embraced, Isolde understood profoundly that her family's remarkable gift, once used cautiously and exclusively for others, could also serve her own genuine happiness proof that sometimes courage required simply trusting magic capable of guiding hearts precisely where they most desperately, genuinely needed to go.

They married the following spring, Isolde's cobbler shop becoming legendary throughout the region, not simply for skilled craftsmanship, but for genuine magic capable of reuniting hearts separated by impossible circumstance a testament to courage, patience, and the profound, transformative power of choosing genuine love over cautious hesitation.

She found herself moments later standing outside a modest workshop in a distant town, uncertain exactly how she'd arrived, though genuine hope building steadily as familiar warmth radiated from within.A man emerged from the workshop, recognition dawning slowly across his weathered, considerably aged features. "Isolde?""Theodore," she breathed, overwhelming emotion crashing over her at finally, properly reuniting with the man she'd quietly loved and regretfully lost touch with for years. "I know this seems impossible, but""You're here," Theodore said simply, closing the distance between them with genuine wonder and unmistakable joy. "I've thought about you constantly, Isolde. I always regretted never properly expressing how deeply I cared, before circumstances separated us.""I felt exactly the same," Isolde admitted, tears gathering as years of quiet regret finally, properly resolved into genuine, unexpected reunion. As they embraced, Isolde understood profoundly that her family's remarkable gift, once used cautiously and exclusively for others, could also serve her own genuine happiness proof that sometimes courage required simply trusting magic capable of guiding hearts precisely where they most desperately, genuinely needed to go.They married the following spring, Isolde's cobbler shop becoming legendary throughout the region, not simply for skilled craftsmanship, but for genuine magic capable of reuniting hearts separated by impossible circumstance a testament to courage, patience, and the profound, transformative power of choosing genuine love over cautious hesitation.THE END ๐Ÿ‘ข๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’›โœจ

Galatasaray confirms Osimhen suffered groin injury

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is a doubt for Nigeria’s opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after Galatasaray confirmed he suffered a moderate-to-advanced strain in his right adductor muscle. GeographicReference

The Turkish champions announced on Sunday, September 6, that medical examinations at Acฤฑbadem Hospital detected bleeding and a strain in the striker’s right groin area. Osimhen sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul BaลŸakลŸehir on Friday, September 4. He scored the opening goal before being substituted in the 33rd minute after experiencing discomfort.

“Following the completion of MR and advanced examinations at our sponsor Acฤฑbadem Hospital, advanced-moderate level strain (bleeding and strain) has been detected in the right adductor (groin) muscle group of our footballer Victor Osimhen,” Galatasaray said. The club also confirmed that midfielder Mario Lemina had suffered a similar injury.

“Similarly, advanced-moderate level strain (bleeding and strain) has been detected in the right adductor muscle group of our player Mario Lemina, whose examinations have also been completed, and their treatment processes are ongoing.” Both players have begun treatment, although Galatasaray did not provide a timeframe for their return.

Osimhen’s injury raises concerns over his availability for Nigeria’s opening 2027 AFCON qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau later in September. The Super Eagles are scheduled to begin their Group L campaign against Madagascar on September 25 before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau four days later.

Nigeria were drawn alongside Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau and co-hosts Tanzania in the group. With Tanzania automatically qualified as a tournament host, only the highest-ranked team among the other three sides will advance from the group. Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is also facing concerns over the fitness of Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu, who was substituted in the 44th minute after scoring twice in his club’s 5-0 victory over GençlerbirliฤŸi.

Alleged Drug Trafficking: Nigerians deserve answers on Tinubu’s Past – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has questioned why President Bola Tinubu is seeking to withhold records concerning his past from a foreign court, asserting that Nigerians deserve clear answers on matters of public interest.

Obi raised the issue in a statement posted on his official social media page on Monday, August 31, 2026, expressing deep concern over the reported legal action and unresolved questions surrounding the President’s background and educational records. He argued that a sitting leader should have the courage to confront inquiries regarding their history directly rather than attempting to shield such files from legitimate public scrutiny.

“It is profoundly embarrassing that we have reached a point where a sitting President is asking a foreign court to withhold records concerning his past, particularly records relating to matters of legitimate public interest,” Obi stated.

The NDC candidate questioned why foundational education credentials, including primary and secondary school records, remain shrouded in controversy and handled predominantly through prolonged litigation.

Obi emphasized that the public deserves “clear, credible, and verifiable explanations” regarding these matters, especially where credentials had previously been submitted to public authorities.

“An imperfect past is part of the human condition. What matters is the willingness to confront it with humility, honesty and deep apology, to make amends where necessary and, when circumstances so demand, to place the interests of the nation above personal ambition,” he noted.

Part 2: The Weaver of Second Sunrises

Corin blinked into sudden, disorienting awareness, finding himself standing in his father's familiar kitchen exactly as it had looked three years earlier before grief, before distance, before the argument that had cost them their final years together.

His father stood at the counter, alive and unmistakably present, exactly as Corin remembered him before everything went wrong.

"You're late," his father said, not yet aware anything unusual had occurred. "We were supposed to discuss the property transfer an hour ago."

Corin felt overwhelming emotion rising, three years of grief and regret colliding violently with impossible, precious opportunity. "Dad," he said, voice breaking. "I need to tell you something first, before we discuss anything else."

His father studied him, confusion evident at his son's uncharacteristic urgency. "What's wrong, Corin?"

"I love you," Corin said immediately, refusing to let pride delay the words this time. "Regardless of whatever we're about to argue about today, regardless of how frustrated we might become with each other I need you to know that first, clearly, before anything else gets said."

His father's expression softened with visible surprise. "That's rather sudden, son. Is everything alright?"

"I don't know how to properly explain," Corin admitted honestly. "I just know I don't want pride to keep either of us silent about what actually matters most, especially not today."

They proceeded through the difficult property discussion that followed, old disagreements still surfacing exactly as they originally had stubborn opinions, genuine frustration, the same fundamental disagreement that had originally driven them apart. But this time, Corin refused to let anger have the final word.

"I disagree with you completely about this," he said firmly, near the argument's peak, "and I probably always will. But disagreeing doesn't mean I love you any less, Dad. I should have said that three years ago, instead of letting stubborn pride keep us apart."

His father's expression shifted slowly, old defensiveness giving way to something more vulnerable. "I've missed you, son. More than my own pride ever properly allowed me to admit."

"I've missed you too," Corin said, embracing his father tightly, three years of unnecessary distance finally, properly resolving within this single, precious repeated day.

They talked for hours afterward, genuine reconciliation replacing the bitter silence that had originally followed their argument, rebuilding connection neither had known how to properly repair the first time around.

As evening approached, Corin felt the day's borrowed time beginning to waver, golden light shimmering faintly at the edges of his vision.

"I need you to know," he said quickly, sensing his time rapidly running short, "however this day actually ends, I'm deeply grateful for this chance to properly tell you I love you, Dad. Regardless of anything else."

His father's eyes filled with emotional tears. "I love you too, son. Completely, regardless of whatever disagreements we might continue having."

The kitchen dissolved gently around him, golden light overtaking his vision entirely, and Corin found himself blinking back into Ondine's small cottage, tears streaming freely down his face.

"It worked," he breathed, astonished and profoundly grateful. "I finally told him. Properly, completely, exactly as I should have three years ago."
