Nigerian gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has urged unmarried participants of the Hallelujah Challenge to commit to abstaining from *** until marriage.

Speaking during a session of the online prayer programme, Bassey encouraged those trusting God for breakthroughs to make personal commitments to live according to their faith.

“If you are a sister here or a brother, you will make a promise to God that you will not sleep with anybody who is not your spouse,” he said.

He urged participants to honour God with their bodies, asking whether they were willing to make what he described as a holy agreement with God.

“Are you ready to enter into a deal with God, a holy deal? That the next time you have ***, it will be with your godly ordained spouse,” he added.

Bassey also addressed business owners, encouraging them to stop cutting corners and make amends where they had wronged others in their business dealings.

He urged them to commit to doing things differently and making things right going forward.

A ride-hailing driver in Nigeria has raised concerns over the rising cost of operating expenses and what he described as low fares on ride-hailing platforms Bolt and inDrive.

The driver, reportedly said he spent ₦80,000 on fuel and worked throughout the night, driving for both platforms, but earned only ₦60,000.

According to his account, his earnings failed to cover his fuel expenses, leaving him with nothing to take home to support his family.

“I bought fuel worth ₦80,000 and worked all night yesterday as a Bolt and inDrive driver. All I made was ₦60,000, leaving me with nothing to take home to feed my family,” he said.

The driver added that he has a wife and four children to provide for, including paying school fees, buying food and maintaining his vehicle.

“I have four children and a wife to take care of. I pay their school fees, provide food for them, and still have to service my car,” he stated.

His complaint has drawn attention to the financial pressures facing ride-hailing drivers, who must contend with fuel costs, vehicle maintenance and other operating expenses while earning through app-based services.

A pupil of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Primary School, Awka, Anambra State, Success Ezenwafor, has d!ed after floodwaters swept away the school shuttle bus at the ring road area of the town on Monday, September 21.

Ezenwafor was among schoolchildren inside the bus when floodwaters overtook it along the Awka-Nibo-Nise-Enugwu-Ukwu Ring Road in Awka South Local Government Area.

His body was recovered on Tuesday, September 22, during a search operation following the incident and was laid to rest on Wednesday, Seotember 23, in his hometown in Ekwulobia, Aguata local government area of Anambra state.

Uche Nworah, former Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), who confirmed this development online, said little Ezenwafor’s parents reported him missing on Tuesday shortly after the heavy rainfall and flooding in the area.

Two other children from the Ezenwafor family were also reportedly in the vehicle but were rescued.

In an update shared on Facebook, Nworah disclosed that the little boy’s remains has been recovered and laid to rest in his hometown.

A Nigerian lady has lamented the country’s poor electricity supply, saying the situation has affected her work and caused her to lose job opportunities.

In a video shared online, the lady said she previously worked with foreign clients but often had to visit friends’ houses to charge her laptop so she could meet deadlines.

She said the electricity situation recently affected her participation in a beauty contest after her lights went off midway through filming a makeup video.

According to her, she had already spent money on makeup products and had completed part of the video when the battery powering her lights ran out. She said there was no electricity in her area to recharge it, while the available power supply was often too weak to run equipment.

The lady said the situation has also limited the amount of makeup and fashion content she creates because she struggles to film properly without electricity and adequate ventilation.

She added that she had spent money meant for her upkeep on fuel to power equipment, describing the situation as both financially and mentally draining.

“Why is electricity still hard to get in 2026? Do you know how many people have missed job interviews? Do you know how many people have missed foreign gigs because of electricity?” she asked.

She said the situation was affecting her ability to work and build the life she wanted, adding that she was frustrated by having to deal with what she described as a basic necessity.

A TikTok user has shared her experience after paying ₦9.1 million in rent for an apartment in Lagos, only to allegedly spend another ₦3.5 million fixing issues with the property.

Zaynab Yusuph said the problems began after she completed the interior and furnishing of the apartment, with the roof reportedly leaking and causing her to live with mould for more than a month.

She said she eventually spent over ₦3.5 million on repairs and construction work, including the roof, POP and other structural issues, which she believed should have been handled by the landlord.

According to Zaynab, she repeatedly reported the problems to the caretaker and landlord through calls, text messages and reminders, but claimed nothing was done.

She said she was eventually forced to pay for the repairs herself because she could not continue living in what she described as a deteriorating environment.

“What makes it worse is the nonchalant attitude of both the landlord and the caretaker. Whenever I report an issue, they tend not to respond until things deteriorate even further,” she wrote.

Zaynab also claimed that the landlord and caretaker often shifted responsibility to the developer and asked her to wait for the issues to be resolved.

“So basically, I paid the rent, I paid to maintain the property, and now I am expected to just absorb over ₦3.5m in expenses as if it’s nothing?” she asked.

She shared the experience to warn prospective tenants about allegedly poorly constructed properties and urged people to thoroughly inspect apartments before paying millions of naira in rent.
